Rush Fest 2017
July 9th – 14th 2017 was a week like no other in youth soccer! This year, all 2005 birth year Rush Soccer players were invited to attend the 9th annual Rush Fest in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Missouri Rush was well represented as 2004G Premier – Valenti and 2005G Azul – Lange teams made the trip out west. Coach Steve Lange said “I was extremely excited our team made the trip. From what I have heard about prior years Rush Fests, this was an event we had to attend!”
The itinerary included parents, coaches, and players all taking part in education sessions in the classroom and on the field. The opening ceremonies set the tone for the week including a DJ, Rush team spirit chants, giveaways, pictures and videos of current and Rush Alumni professional players encouraging the next generation of Rush superstars.
During the weeklong event, there were daily games, street soccer sessions, coaching collaborations, REACH make your own ball event (geared towards emphasizing how less fortunate children around the world find a way to play), parent wine tasting appreciation night, and Rush Thunder program (where players with special needs were assisted by team nominated “buddies” to teach drills to showcase their soccer talents). Additionally, all parents and coaches were invited to attend an education session where John O’Sullivan from Changing the Game Project spoke.
Closing ceremonies is the highlight of the week. All the teams take part in gift exchanges, spirit competitions, and of course singing and dancing to show off their Rush pride! Missouri Rush made the quarter finals in the spirit award competition!
All in all, the best part of the event was the passion and enjoyment for the game that the kids showed. If you are a Rush player born in 2006, set your sights on next year’s event!

Rush Fest is an annual event held in Colorado in mid-July that brings together U12 boys and girls' teams and players from Rush clubs across the country. The week-long festival of soccer joins competitive games, training sessions, classrooms sessions and a host of social events in one of the most unique soccer events anywhere in the country. Teams compete against one another in morning games that are bracketed for like ability and afternoon training, including keeper specific training, and classroom sessions run by top coaches from within the Rush family working with the players and team coaches.
The event has both an opening and closing ceremony that is often the highlight of the week as players get to hang out, dance and sing Rush songs with players from across the Rush nation and fuse life-long friendships. We do not forget the adults either with a high level coaching clinic for all coaches in attendance and a world class parent education session hosted by John O’Sullivan, founder of Changing The Game Project.
The event is designed to give the players the most fun soccer experience of their life, with education, games, and memories they will never forget.
